were surging 15 percent on Thursday after the company reported after Wednesday's market close a blowout fourth quarter and sales guidance. Tableau Software reported that it earned $0.42 in the fourth quarter, beating the $0.11 per share analysts expected by a large margin. Revenue of $142.9 million was better than expected by more than $20 million and marked a 75.4 percent increase from the same quarter a year ago. GAAP operating income for the fourth quarter improved to $16.1 million from $9.2 million a year ago as license revenue rose 75 percent from a year ago to $101.4 million while maintenance and services revenue rose 77 percent from a year ago to $41.5 million. During the company's post-earnings conference call with analysts, management suggested that it expects first quarter sales to fall in a range of $110 million to $115 million while sales for the entire fiscal 2015 is estimated to be $565 million to $580 million.
