Intuitive Surgical, Inc. ISRG beat fourth-quarter profit views Thursday after pre-announcing revenue for the period earlier this month.
The company traded recently in the extended session nearly unchanged at $527.27.
Intuitive sold 97 units of its recently introduced da Vinci Xi surgical system in the fourth quarter, up from 59 units in the third quarter of 2014, and 50 during the second quarter when the system launched.
Intuitive's fourth-quarter net income fell to $146.8 million, or $3.94 a share, from $166.2 million, or $4.28 a share in the year-earlier period.
Revenue grew to $604.7 million, from $576.2 million last year.
Adjusted earnings for the recent period equaled $4.92 a share on adjusted revenue of $6.01 million.
Wall Street expected fourth-quarter adjusted income of $4.38 a share on revenue of $589.4 million.
