Ebos Group FY14 Net Profit Surges

Ebos Group reported a 226% rise in its net profit n the year ended June 30. The New Zealand company posted a net profit of 92.1 million New Zealand dollars (US$77 million) in the year, or 62.8 cents per share, versus a year-ago profit of 28.2 million New Zealand dollars, or 46.8 cents per share. Ebos said, "The prior year results only included 18 days trading for Symbion and, therefore, year on year comparisons for our key performance indicators have been favorably impacted by the acquisition." Its total revenue jumped 216% to 5.8 billion New Zealand dollars. Healthcare segment's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation jumped 212% to 153 million New Zealand dollars, while sales at its Australian pharmacy business came in little changed versus a year-ago period. Sales at its animal care division jumped 100% to 338.9 million New Zealand dollars, while EBITDA gained 58% to 29.4 million New Zealand dollars. Ebos also announced its plans to pay a final dividend of 20.5 New Zealand cents per share.
