Executives at Best Buy BBY spoke confidently about its current business model even with facing some year over year declines.
They highlighted the company's ship from store strides/new store within stores and gave some outlook for the future.
Ship From Store and New Store Within Stores
Expect to add 50 store within store appliance centers and also 20 new home entertainment ones.
Expect to add 500 Samsung store within stores, as well.
The company is now able to ship out of all 1,400 retail stores which will help shipping costs and times.
Outlook
Second and third quarter expected to see industry-wide declines in computer business.
EPS expected to be flat to positive for the second quarter, flat to negative $0.01 for the third quarter and negative $0.09-$0.10 for the fourth quarter.
Shift to more digital and internet-based marketing than TV-based ads.
