William Hill Posts Rise In Net Profit

reported a gain in its net profit during the 52 weeks ended December 31, 2013. William Hill's pretax profit for the period declined to 257 million pounds ($430.4 million), from GBP277.7 million, in the 53 weeks ended January 1, 2013. Its net revenue rose to GBP1.49 billion from GBP1.28 billion, while net profit climbed to GBP211.2 million from GBP189.8 million. Excluding special items, its pretax profit declined to GBP279.8 million versus GBP292.7 million.
