UPDATE: Accenture Posts Upbeat Q1 Results

reported better-than-expected first-quarter results. Accenture expects current-quarter revenue of $6.95 billion to $7.25 billion, versus analysts' estimates of $7.28 billion. However, it lifted its earnings outlook for the year to $4.42 to $4.54 per share. Accenture's quarterly net income jumped to $811.6 million, or $1.15 per share, versus $766 million, or $1.06 per share. Its revenue gained to $7.36 billion from $7.22 billion, while outsourcing revenue rose 5% to $3.42 billion. However, analysts were projecting earnings of $1.09 per share on revenue of $7.25 billion. Accenture's income from the consulting business dropped 1% to $3.94 billion. Accenture shares rose 3.91% to $78.58 in pre-market trading.
