Randgold Posts Decline In Q3 Profit

reported a fall in its third-quarter profit. Randgold's quarterly net profit dropped to $81.3 million, from $103.3 million, in the year-earlier period. Its basic earnings per share declined to $0.88 from $1.12, versus analysts' estimates of $0.64. Gold sales climbed to 348,688 ounces versus 318,332 ounces. Randgold shares gained 1.01% to close at $74.26 yesterday.
