UPDATE: STMicroelectronics Posts Narrower Q3 Loss

STMicroelectronics NV

posted a narrower third-quarter loss. STMicro reported a quarterly loss of $142 million, or $0.16 per share, versus a year-ago loss of $478 million, or $0.54 per share. Excluding one-time items, its adjusted loss came in flat at $0.03 per share. Its sales declined 5.4% to around $2.01 billion, while gross margin shrank to 32.4% from 34.8%. STMicro shares fell 6.33% to $8.14 in pre-market trading.
