UPDATE: Johnson & Johnson Posts Higher Q3 Profit
Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) reported a rise in its third-quarter profit.
Johnson & Johnson's quarterly profit surged to $2.98 billion, or $1.04 per share, versus a year-ago profit of $2.97 billion, or $1.05 per share. Excluding special items, it earned $1.36 per share.
Its revenue climbed to $17.58 billion from $17.05 billion. However, analysts were estimating earnings of $1.32 per share on revenue of $17.45 billion.
Johnson & Johnson projects full-year earnings of $5.44 to $5.49 per share.
Johnson & Johnson shares gained 1.28% to $90.95 in pre-market trading.
