posted a pretax loss for the first half of the year. G4S swung to a pretax loss of GBP87 million, versus a year-ago pretax profit of GBP48 million. Its total revenue surged to GBP3.65 billion from GBP3.45 billion. Its diluted loss per share came in at 14.7 pence, versus earnings of 1.6 pence. Its adjusted earnings per share declined to 6.6 pence from 7.5 pence. G4S shares closed at $19.07 yesterday.
