Alcatel-Lucent Posts Narrower Q1 Operating Loss

reported a narrower operating loss for the first quarter. Alcatel-Lucent posted a quarterly net loss of 353 million euros ($460 million), versus a year-ago net profit of EUR398 million. Its operating loss narrowed to EUR202 million from EUR298 million, while revenue gained 0.6% to EUR3.22 billion. Alcatel-Lucent shares closed at $1.40 yesterday.
