UPDATE: Republic Services Posts Lower Q4 Profit

reported a drop in its fourth-quarter profit. Republic Services' quarterly profit declined to $127 million, or $0.35 per share, versus $191 million, or $0.51 per share, in the year-earlier period. Excluding one-time items, it earned $0.37 per share. Its revenue came in at $2.03 billion. However, analysts expected earnings of $0.43 per share on revenue of $2 billion. Republic Services projects 2013 adjusted earnings of $1.86 to $1.91 per share on sales growth of 2% to 2.5%. Republic Services shares fell 0.28% to $31.75 in after-hours trading.
