UPDATE: Tractor Supply Q4 Profit Rises 13%

Tractor Supply Co (NASDAQ: TSCO) reported a 13% rise in its fourth-quarter earnings.

For the year, Tractor Supply expects earnings of $4.32 to $4.40 per share on revenue of $5.07 billion to $5.17 billion. However, analysts projected a profit of $4.36 per share on revenue of $5.14 billion.

Tractor Supply's quarterly profit surged to $79.5 million, or $1.11 per share, from $70.5 million, or $0.96 per share, in the year-ago period.

Its revenue rose 3.7% to $1.29 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $1.03 per share on revenue of $1.29 billion.

Its gross margin widened to 33% from 32.5%.

Tractor Supply shares gained 6.15% to $100.25 in after-hours trading.
