Norfolk Southern
NSC reported a 14% drop in its fourth-quarter earnings.
Norfolk Southern's quarterly profit fell to $413 million, or $1.30 per share, from $480 million, or $1.42 per share, in the year-ago period.
Its revenue fell 4% to $2.7 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $1.19 per share on revenue of $2.67 billion.
Its railway operating margin declined to 26.6% from 28.6%.
Norfolk Southern shares fell 0.06% to $66.90 in after-hours trading.
