UPDATE: Alcoa Q3 Revenue Down 9.1%

posted a loss in the third quarter loss. Alcoa posted a quarterly loss of $143 million, or $0.13 per share, versus a year-ago profit of $172 million, or $0.15 per share. Excluding special items, Alcoa earned $0.03 per share. Its revenue fell 9.1% to $5.83 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.01 per share on revenue of $5.54 billion. Alcoa's total costs and expenses for the quarter declined 1.6%. Alcoa shares dropped 0.99% to $9.04 in after-hours trading.
