Cairn Energy Posts Narrower H1 Loss

reported a narrower pretax loss for the first half of 2012. Cairn Energy posted a pretax loss of 50 million dollars, versus a year-ago loss of $141.3 million. It posted an operating loss of $76.7 million, versus a year-ago loss of $128.8 million. Its diluted EPS came in at 5.23 cents, down from 29.85 cents. Cairn Energy shares rose 0.75% to close at $9.37 yesterday.
