UPDATE: Nordson Posts 18% Surge In FQ3 Earnings, Issues Upbeat FQ4 Forecast

reported an 18% rise in its fiscal third-quarter earnings and issued upbeat forecast for the current quarter. Nordson expects FQ4 earnings of $0.96 to $1.04 per share on revenue of $408 million to $422 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.95 on revenue of $392 million. Nordson's quarterly profit surged to $66.7 million, or $1.03 per share, from $56.6 million, or $0.82 per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding other items, Nordson earned $1.06 per share. Its revenue climbed 22% to $379.9 million. In May, Nordson expected earnings of $0.96 to $1.04 per share on revenue of $337 million to $349 million. Its gross margin declined to 58.8% from 60.2%. Nordson shares jumped 13.82% to $62.60 in after-hours trading.
