Allianz Q2 Net Profit Up 23%

reported a 23% rise in second-quarter net profit. Allianz's quarterly net profit climbed to EUR1.23 billion, versus EUR1 billion, in the year-ago period. However, analysts were expecting a net profit of EUR1.21 billion. Its operating profit gained 2.8% to EUR2.36 billion, versus analysts' estimates of EUR2.21 billion. Its total revenue rose 2.5% to EU25.2 billion, versus analysts' estimates of EUR25.04 billion. Allianz shares closed at $9.61 yesterday.
