Amazon Lower After Earnings
Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) released its fiscal second-quarter results after the bell on Thursday. The company reported earnings per share of $0.01, which was below analysts' consensus EPS estimates of $0.02.
Revenues came in at $12.83 billion compared to analysts' estimates of $12.89 billion.
The company guided third-quarter sales to $12.9 to $14.3 billion. This compares to analysts' consensus estimates of $14.11 billion.
The company sees an earnings loss of $50 to $350 million compared to analysts' consensus estimates of a $119.6 million profit.
In the after hours, AMZN shares have lost a little less than 2% to $216.04, after initially plunging on the earnings news.
