Ulta Rises Slightly After Q1 Report
Ulta Beauty (NASDAQ: ULTA) released its fiscal first-quarter earnings results on Tuesday after the closing bell. The company reported net income of $34.9 million from $23.3 million in last year's first-quarter.
On a per share basis, income was up 45.9% to $0.54 versus $0.37 last year. This compared to Wall Street analysts' consensus EPS estimates of $0.53.
Net sales in the period rose 22.8% to $474.1 million compared to $386.0 million in the year ago quarter. This came in just ahead of consensus revenue estimates of $473.87 million.
Comparable store sales at ULTA were up 10.1%.
Looking ahead to the second-quarter, ULTA sees net sales between $466 million and $473 million. Earnings per share are expected to be between $0.49 and $0.51.
Currently, Wall Street anticipates that ULTA will report EPS of $0.48 on revenues of $467.40 million in the second-quarter.
In Tuesday's after hours trading session, UTLA shares have risen 0.35% to $87.81.
