AngloGold Ashanti Posts Jump In Q1 Profit

AngloGold Ashanti Ltd (NYSE: AU) reported a strong rise in its profit in the first quarter.
Its profit attributable to equity shareholders climbed to $563 million, from $241 million in the year-ago period. Its adjusted headline earnings surged to $429 million from $203 million. Revenue gained to $1.794 billion from $1.489 billion.
AU shares closed at $32.53 yesterday.
