UPDATE: Randgold Posts Rise In Q1 Profit, Output

Randgold Resources Ltd (NASDAQ: GOLD) reported a rise in its first quarter gold production and profit.

Profit attributable to equity shareholders rose to $89.4 million, from $41.5 million, in the year-ago quarter, but down from $122.3 million in the previous quarter.

Its production climbed 19% y/y, but fell 13% on the previous quarter.

Randgold shares closed at $86.32 yesterday.
