UPDATE: Cooper Tire & Rubber Posts Upbeat Q4 Profit

posted a rise in its fourth-quarter profit. Cooper Tire & Rubber posted its quarterly net income from continuing operations of $209 million, or $3.33 per share, up from $40.2 million, or $0.64 per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding items, the company earned $0.51 per share, versus analysts' estimates of $0.39 per share. Cooper Tire & Rubber's sales surged 14% to $1.05 billion, versus analysts' estimates of $1.02 billion. CTB shares closed at $15.66 on Friday.
