KeyCorp (NYSE: KEY) posted a better-than-expected quarterly profit.

KeyCorp's quarterly earnings dropped to $194 million, or $0.20 per share, from $279 million, or $0.32 per share, in the year-ago period. It earned $0.21 per share from continuing operations.

Analysts were expecting earnings of $0.20 per share.

KeyCorp shares fell 0.37% to $8.08 in pre-market trading.
