UPDATE: Regions Financial Swings To Q4 Loss

Regions Financial Corp (NYSE: RF) swung to a Q4 loss.

Regions Financial posted a quarterly net loss of $602 million, or $0.48 per share, versus a year-ago profit of $36 million, or $0.03 per share. Its earnings from continuing operations, excluding goodwill impairment, came in at $0.09 per share. However, analysts were expecting a profit of $0.06 per share.

Regions Financial's net interest margin rose to 3.08% from 3.01%.

Regions Financial shares dropped 1.63% to $4.84 in pre-market trading.
