Capital One Falls 6% on Earnings

Capital One Financial (NYSE: COF) released its fourth-quarter earnings results on Thursday after the close of trading. The company reported net income of $407 million or $0.88 per share, compared to $697 million or $1.52 per share, in the year ago period. This compared to Wall Street analysts' consensus EPS estimates of $1.56.

Net interest income for the quarter was $3.02 billion while non-interest income was $868 million. Analysts expected COF to report revenues of $4.11 billion.

During Friday's trading session, the stock has lost 6% and is trading at $45.83. Volume has been heavy with around 14.1 million COF shares trading hands compared to a 3-month daily average of 5.5 million.
