Some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are:

Family Dollar Stores Inc (NYSE: FDO) reported an 8% rise in its FQ1 net income. However, the company's revenue missed analysts' estimates. FDO shares dropped 2.86% to $56.30 in after-hours trading.

Alcoa Inc (NYSE: AA) announced its plans to cut its global smelting capacity by 12%. AA shares fell 1.71% to $9.20 in the after-hours trading session.

RF Micro Devices Inc (NASDAQ: RFMD) lowered its fiscal-third quarter revenue forecast. RFMD shares tumbled 15.78% to $4.75 in after-hours trading.

Ruby Tuesday Inc (NYSE: RT) swung to a loss in its recent quarter. The restaurant chain's same-store sales dropped 4.2%. RT shares dipped 4.53% to $6.74 in the after-hours trading session.

Vical Incorporated (NASDAQ: VICL) reported that it intends to offer and sell shares of its common stock in an underwritten public offering. Vical shares declined 12.38% to $3.75 in after-hours trading.
