Earnings Preview: Broadcom & How To Trade It (BRCM, QCOM, NXPI, TXN)
Broadcom Corporation (NASDAQ: BRCM) shares are up slightly today, but the real action will come after hours, when the semiconductor company reports earnings.
Wall Street analysts are looking for earnings of 59 cents per share on revenues of $1.81 billion, compared to 2010, when it reported earnings of 57 cents per share on revenues of $1.46 billion. That's almost 24% revenue growth.
At last check, shares of Broadcom were up 8 cents to $40.24, a gain of 0.20%. Broadcom trades at 13.2 times next year's earnings, and sports a 0.9% yield. It also has a PEG ratio of 0.9, which is very cheap for a company growing 24% per year.
If Broadcom is able to deliver strong quarterly profits, then names like Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM), NXP Semiconductor (NASDAQ: NXPI), and Taiwan Semiconductor (NYSE: TSM) could see a bit of a boost in after hours.
