A Peek Into The Markets: U.S. Stock Futures Mixed Ahead Of Fed Minutes

Pre-open movers

U.S. stock futures traded mixed in early pre-market trade. Data on factory orders for May will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET, while the Federal Open Market Committee will issue minutes of its latest meeting at 2:00 p.m. ET.

Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 9 points to 21,445.00, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index futures rose 1.50 points to 2,426.50. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index declined 14.25 points to 5,575.00.

Oil prices traded lower as Brent crude futures fell 1.45 percent to trade at $48.89 per barrel, while US WTI crude futures dropped 1.66 percent to trade at $46.29 a barrel.

A Peek Into Global Markets

European markets were mostly higher today, with the Spanish Ibex Index falling 0.13 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index surging 0.15 percent and German DAX 30 index gaining 0.17 percent. The UK's FTSE index was trading higher by 0.12 percent, while French CAC 40 Index rose 0.28 percent.

In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.25 percent, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index gained 0.52 percent, China’s Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.76 percent and India’s BSE Sensex rose 0.11 percent.

Broker Recommendation

Analysts at KeyBanc upgraded Oracle Corporation ORCL from Sector Weight to Overweight.

Oracle shares rose 0.57 percent to $49.64 in pre-market trading.
