Walgreens also posted upbeat quarterly earnings.
• Fred's, Inc. FRED fell 19.7 percent to $9.89 in pre-market trading after after RiteAid and Walgreens announced termination of original divestiture agreement. Fred's confirmed in a press release that all asset purchase agreements has been terminated and it will receive $25 million as reimbursement for expenses associated with the termination.
• VirnetX Holding Corporation VHC shares fell 12 percent to $4.40 in pre-market trading after surging 3.09 percent on Wednesday.
• Moleculin Biotech Inc MBRX shares fell 11.9 percent to $2.89 in pre-market trading after surging 65.66 percent on Wednesday.
