The worst performing industries in the market today are:

  • Silver: This industry slipped 1 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was First Majestic Silver Corp AG, which fell 5.4 percent. Silver futures fell 1.3 percent to trade at $16.62 an ounce.
  • Water Utilities: This industry declined 0.7 percent by 11:00 am with SJW Group SJW moving down 1.8 percent. First Majestic Silver shares have surged 84.87 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has increased 5.53 percent in the same period.
  • Gold: The industry dropped 0.4 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Tanzanian Royalty Exploration Corp TRX, which declined 7.2 percent. Gold futures dropped 1.4 percent to trade at $1,161.50 an ounce.
  • Electronic Equipment: This industry fell 0.4 percent by 11:00 am ET. Koss Corporation KOSS shares dropped 4.8 percent in today's trading.
