The Dow rose 0.32 percent to 18,177.69, while the NASDAQ composite index gained 0.27 percent to 5,249.38. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 0.28 percent to 2,145.10.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

  • Internet Service Providers: This industry slipped 1.6 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Ubiquity Inc UBIQ, which fell 7.2 percent.
  • Photographic Equipment & Supplies: This industry declined 1.5 percent by 11:00 am with GoPro Inc GPRO moving down 2.6 percent. GoPro Inc announced the launch of a subscription software offering, while introducing its first ever drone and refreshing its action camera portfolio with the new HERO5 Session and HERO5 Black. Goldman Sachs maintained a Neutral rating on the company, while raising the price target from $12.50 to $14.00.
  • Shipping: This industry fell 1.4 percent by 11:00 am ET. Teekay Offshore Partners L.P. TOO shares dropped 2.2 percent in today's trading. Teekay Offshore shares have tumbled 68.40 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has increased 8.75 percent in the same period.
  • Internet Software & Services: The industry dropped 1 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was NetEase Inc (ADR) NTES, which declined 2.3 percent.
