The worst performing industries in the market today are:

  • Dairy Products: This industry slipped 2 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Dean Foods Co DF, which fell 2 percent. Dean Foods shares have dropped 0.52 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has increased 11.02 percent in the same period.
  • Processed & Packaged Goods: This industry declined 1.5 percent by 11:00 am with Mead Johnson Nutrition CO MJN moving down 3.2 percent. Mead Johnson Nutrition’s PEG ratio is 2.97.
  • Nonmetallic Mineral Mining: This industry fell 1.4 percent by 11:00 am ET. Yanzhou Coal Mining Co Ltd (ADR) YZC shares dropped 4.2 percent in today's trading. Yanzhou Coal Mining shares have surged 32.98 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 11.02 percent in the same period.
  • Meat Products: The industry dropped 1.1 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Hormel Foods Corp HRL, which declined 1.6 percent. Hormel Foods announced the retirement of its CEO Jeffrey M. Ettinger on October 30, 2016. The company named James P. Snee to be the next CEO, effective October 31, 2016.
