  • Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc. VNDA shares rose 23 percent to $14.46. Vanda Pharmaceuticals shares have gained 6.14 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has climbed 16.48 percent in the same period.

  • Tiffany & Co. TIF rose 5.4 percent to $72.60 as the company produced mixed results for the second quarter. While its earnings came in above the estimates, sales missed expectations. The company maintained its full year revenue and EPS forecast.
  • Micron Technology, Inc. MU gained 5.2 percent to $16.32. Nomura Securities reiterated a Buy rating and increased price target on Micron from $16 to $20.
  • Workday Inc WDAY shares gained 4.5 percent to $83.20. Workday reported a wider-than-expected loss for its second quarter, but sales exceeded analysts’ expectations. The company also issued a weak revenue outlook for the current quarter.
  • Ballard Power Systems Inc. (USA) BLDP rose 4.3 percent to $2.08 as the company reported that its unit Protonex has unveiled clean energy fuel cell propulsion systems for civilian unmanned vehicles.
  • NQ Mobile Inc (ADR) NQ rose 4.2 percent to $4.47 following announcement of FL Mobile divestment.
  • Burlington Stores Inc BURL shares rose 3.4 percent to $81.20 as the company reported better-than-expected Q2 earnings.
  • Sanderson Farms, Inc. SAFM shares rose 2.7 percent to $97.75 as the company posted better-than-expected Q3 earnings.
  • Mylan NV MYL rose 2.1 percent to $44.04. Mylan, announced on Thursday an initiative in which it will cover up to $300 of out-of-pocket expenses through the use of a savings card. Mylan's announcement effectively reduced by 50 percent the cost exposure for many patients who were previously paying the full list price for the EpiPen.
