Warner Bros. Eyeing Female 'Ocean's Eleven' Reboot

In recent years, reboots have become the new normal and Time Warner Inc's TWX Warner Bros. is looking to keep the trend going with one of its power franchises.

The "Ocean's Eleven" trilogy, headlined by George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon, has been dormant for years, but that could change soon. It has been reported the Time Warner owned studio is looking at "Ocean's Eight," a female-centric spin-off film.

Among the names rumored to be attached include Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway and Rhianna, as well as cameos from some of the "Eleven" gang. Steven Soderbergh, who directed the original, is expected to produce but hands the day-to-day reigns to longtime collaborator Gary Ross (of "The Hunger Games" fame).

The studio is looking to begin production in New York this fall with an eye on a 2017 release date, which would be 10 years after "Ocean's "Thirteen" debuted. The original "Ocean's Eleven" trilogy grossed over $1 billion worldwide.
