Avis Aligns With TrueCar To Offer Consumers One More Way To Buy Off-Rental Vehicles

Avis Budget Group, Inc. CAR and TrueCar, Inc. TRUE struck a fresh partnership agreement. As a result of this multi-year agreement, those in the market for a used set of wheels could access the former company's inventory of high-quality, well-maintained off-rental vehicles through the latter.

Avis Budget Group said it offers over 100 makes, as well as models on TrueCar's website from a number of domestic and foreign manufacturers. This included, BMW, Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota and Volvo. The company stated that vehicles were available for purchase at competitive low prices, and customers could schedule an "ultimate test drive" to enjoy the full experience of driving the vehicle of their choice.

The companies indicated that ultimate test drives were free-of-charge for two hours or could be extended to a maximum of three days for a nominal rental fee. The company added that if the customer decided to purchase the vehicle, then the base rental fee would be refunded after the purchase is completed.

Avis Budget Group SVP of fleet services, Michael Schmidt, said, "This new partnership exposes our inventory to a much wider audience and serves as a catalyst for vehicle sales growth.
