CMTL
disclosed Wednesday that its Commercial Solutions segment was granted with a five-year contract, which would have a potential value of about $45.0 million to provide a statewide Next Generation 9-1-1 Emergency Service IP Network in Washington State. Comtech stated that it would install, as well as, manage a state-wide enterprise system based upon NENA NG9-1-1 compliant elements, which included geo-spatial call routing and advanced reporting capabilities. The company added that it designed an end-to-end solution for NG9-1-1 call delivery with both in-state and out-of-state data centers to guarantee continuous operability through geo-redundancy. The company's President and CEO, Stanton Sloane, commented, "Once operational this will represent one of the nation's most advanced public safety emergency networks. The system has the capability to process wireline, wireless and VoIP calls, and text, and prepares the state to evolve quickly to new 9-1-1 call origination formats moving forward." On Wednesday, the stock advanced 2.66 percent.
