AMZN
revealed that its brand-new Amazon Original Kids Series, The Kicks, is slated to premiere on August 26 on its Prime Video in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Austria. The online retailer said that the series was based on a book by US Olympic Gold Medalist and current US Women's National Team soccer player, Alex Morgan. The company added that the series, The Kicks, is a live-action one for children aged between six and eleven follows Devin Burke, played by newcomer Sixx Orange, who was the star player on her soccer team until her family moved to California midway through the school year. Amazon Studios Head of Kids Programming, Tara Sorensen, commented, "Both Alex Morgan and now Devin are undeniably strong female role models who will inspire our audience to work hard and passionately to achieve their goals. The Kicks showcases the value of overcoming the odds and our audience will relate with the broader themes of passion, determination and camaraderie developed throughout the season." The company indicated that The Kicks was part of its kids pilot season last year, a unique development process giving all customers an opportunity to stream and review pilots to help select the next Amazon Original Series. On Wednesday, the stock advanced 0.46 percent.
