SAIC Granted $86 Million Task Order By American Air Force

Science Applications International Corp. SAIC revealed that the American Air Force and the General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Systems Integration Management Center (FEDSIM) have granted the Strategic Plans and Policy Support Services task order. The total worth of contact is estimated at $86 million.

According to the company, it would have to provide technical, analytical, operational, and planning subject matter expertise to the Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Deterrence, as well as, Nuclear Integration and Air Force Major Commands.

Science Applications International indicated that the contract was awarded under the GSA One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services (OASIS) contract vehicle. The company added that the single-award task order has a one-year base period of performance with four one-year options. The company also disclosed that the work would be performed mainly in Washington though some work would extend to Air Force installations worldwide.

The company's SVP and GM of the Intelligence Community and Air Force Consumer Group, Mark Escobar, commented, "We are proud to assist the Air Force in meeting today's missions and tomorrow's challenges. For more than 40 years, we have provided the Air Force with subject matter expertise and professional talent to support their mission to meet U.S. national security objectives. We are honored to have been selected to continue this important work."

Following this, the stock traded 1.27 percent higher.
