American Airlines June Load Factor Falls To 84.9%

American Airlines Group Inc AAL disclosed its total passenger load factor for June was 84.9 percent. That represented 50 basis points fall from the last year performance.

American Airlines' total revenue passenger miles (RPMs) grew 2.2 percent to 20.9 billion from June 2015. Its total capacity also advanced 2.8 percent to 24.6 billion available seat miles (ASMs), from the previous year month.

The company indicated it expects its consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) to be down about 6 to 7 percent year-over-year in the second quarter. Aside from that, it continued to expect pretax margin, excluding special items, to be 14-16 percent.

For the year-to-date, American Airlines' load factor fell 0.6 points to 81.7 percent. Its ASM advanced 2.7 percent while its RPM rose 1.9 percent.

The stock traded 1.47 percent higher.
