Virgin America June Load Factor Rises To 87%

Virgin America Inc. VA revealed that it witnessed 1.4 points YOY growth in its load factor in June. As a result, its load factor reached 87 percent in June. According to the company, the number of onboard passengers recorded 17.4 percent uptick from the same month previous year.

Virgin America said that the airline's traffic increased 18.7 percent on capacity, which was measured in available seat miles, and that grew 16.8 percent from the same month in 2015.

For the year-to-date period, the passenger load factor advanced to 83.1 percent from 82.7 percent in the year-ago period. Its ASM grew 15.5 percent while RPM advanced 16.1 percent on a year-over-year basis.
