First Internet Bank Launches Mobile App Compatible With Smartwatches

First Internet Bankcorp INBK improved its mobile app to add smartwatch capabilities. As a result, customers with an Apple Watch or Android Wear device would be able to securely, as well as conveniently access account information with the help of their smartwatch. The customers need not have to log in.

First Internet Bank said the smartwatch feature enabled customers with a wearable device, paired with their phone. That would ensure customers to view their balances and transactions securely and conveniently from their watch. The company added that Smartwatch functionality is available immediately through the its personal banking mobile app, along with other new features added in these enhancements.

The bank's president and CEO, David Becker, commented, "First Internet Bank was built from the start to serve customers in the digital age, and offering innovative services like smartwatch banking is just the latest in our cache of customer-centric banking solutions."

He continued, "The convenience of the biometric authentication tools like Touch ID andEyeprint ID that we already offer, and now the addition of smartwatch functionality, makes it even easier for our customers to access their accounts."

The stock shed 3.89 percent on Tuesday.
