The worst performing industries in the market today are:

  • Regional - Midwest Banks: This industry slipped 2.9 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was PrivateBancorp Inc PVTB, which fell 0.5 percent. Keefe Bruyette & Woods downgraded PrivateBancorp from Outperform to Market Perform.
  • Drug Related Products: This industry declined 1.7 percent by 11:00 am with Perrigo Company plc PRGO moving down 1.7 percent. Perrigo shares have declined 50.16 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has dropped 0.29 percent in the same period.
  • Home Furnishing Stores: This industry fell 1.6 percent by 11:00 am ET. Kirkland's, Inc. KIRK shares dropped 1.5 percent in today's trading. Kirkland's shares have dipped 47.99 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has dropped 0.29 percent in the same period.
  • Nonmetallic Mineral Mining: The industry dropped 1.2 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Hongli Clean Energy Technologies Corp CETC, which declined 4 percent.
