Sprint Adds Jim Hyde To Its Prepaid Leadership Team

Sprint Corp. S indicated it strengthened its leadership team by adding wireless veteran, Jim Hyde, in its Prepaid Group. According to the telecom service provider, Dow Draper moves to a new role, leading the new Virgin Mobile USA endeavor.

Sprint said that as president of Prepaid and Wholesale Services, Hyde would be held responsible for developing, as well as, driving the prepaid strategy and business in the Boost Mobile and Sprint Prepaid platforms apart from the Virgin Mobile business. The company added that he would also take care of the relationships with its Wholesale and Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) customers.

Hyde held the position of CEO, president and director in nTelos Wireless, Lumos Networks and was also CEO and managing director of T-Mobile UK.

Sprint president and CEO, Marcelo Claure, said, "Jim brings more than 20 years of telecommunications experience that will benefit the entire Sprint team. He is a visionary leader with a proven track record of successfully transforming start-ups and multibillion-dollar international companies to deliver best-in-class results. I am confident that Jim will accomplish a great deal with our prepaid brands."

Shares of Sprint traded 3.35 percent higher on Wednesday.
