In this corner, we have Shari Redstone, who Wednesday the NY Post reported has been in contact with Alibaba Group Holding Ltd (NYSE: BABA) founder Jack Ma in connection with the sale of Paramount Pictures, a holding of Viacom, Inc. (NASDAQ: VIAB).

And in this corner, we have her father, Sumner Redstone, who reported recently opposes the sale. Sumner made news Wednesday himself by making appearances at many of his companies, including Paramount, despite rarely being seen in public lately.

This has all the makings of a classic Redstone boxing battle, which has become something of a family tradition. Sumner has been sued by his brother and nephew, accused of stealing by his son and has often clashed with his daughter Shari over issues related to the family business.
