Esurance Becomes First Major Brand To Sponsor MLB And MiLB

Allstate Corp ALL's online insurance unit Esurance has signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with Minor League Baseball (MiLB), making it "the exclusive home and auto insurance partner" for the league, which hosts 244 teams across multiple leagues, according to the press release.

While financial terms nor the partnership duration were not disclosed, the deal follows Esurance's deal with Major League Baseball last year. According to the company, they are currently the only major brand to sponsor both Minor and Major League Baseball.

As part of the partnership, MiLB and Esurance created the "Esurance Call-Up Worthy" campaign, which the company launches Monday exclusively on MiLB.com and the MiLB club websites.

Throughout the season, Minor League Baseball and Esurance will reveal other key programs as part of the Esurance Call-Up Worthy platform, including:

  • "MiLB players as Esurance Brand Ambassadors"
  • "Esurance Rising Star Students, with support from MiLB Charity Partner Big Brothers Big Sisters of America"
  • "Esurance September Call-Ups, leading up to the Major League Baseball postseason"
  • "The Esurance Home Field Advantage Award, recognizing the MiLB club with the highest percentage capacity in each of its 14 leagues"

Meanwhile, Esurance sees the partnership as an extension across baseball and will partner with a number of MiLB clubs.

"Our partnership with Minor League Baseball extends the fantastic experience we've had with the sport and its passionate fans, while introducing millions more to our brand and modern approach to home and auto insurance," said Alan Gellman, CMO at Esurance, said in a statement.
