Pacific Premier Bancorp Names Ronald Nicolas as SVP and CFO

, the holding company of Pacific Premier Bank, revealed Friday that Ronald Nicolas, Jr. was hired as SVP and CFO of both the Company and the Bank, effective May 31. According to the company, he has over three decades of finance and accounting experience in the banking sector, most recently serving as EVP and CFO of Banc of California, Inc. and its subsidiary, Banc of California, National Association. Pacific Premier Bancorp President and CEO, Steve Gardner, commented, "We are very pleased to add an executive of Ron's caliber to our executive management team. Ron has extensive experience as a CFO at growing financial institutions. We believe that his financial management expertise will be valuable as we continue to execute on our organic and acquisitive growth strategies as part of our effort to further increase the value of the Pacific Premier franchise." The company said that between 2012 and April 2016, Nicolas served in different capacities with Banc of California, Inc., and its subsidiary Banc of California, National Association, and their predecessors. That included CFO and EVP of each institution, and Director of Banc of California's predecessor bank. Before that, Nicolas served as EVP and CFO at different financial institutions. On Friday, the stock traded 3.63 percent down.
