T-Mobile Confirms Extended Range LTE In Boston

T-Mobile US Inc TMUS confirmed its extended range LTE or 700 MHz low band spectrum in greater Boston area. According to the company, it now carries LTE signals quicker, as well as deeper indoors than ever before. As a result, the customers could experience best in-building coverage offering.

T-Mobile said it has been launching new spectrum carrying the LTE signal twice as far from towers so that it could provide a massive coverage expansion. The key factor is that it is four times better in buildings than earlier.

This is not the first time that the telecom service provider has been doing it. In the past, it deployed airways of 700 MHz throughout the nation that included cities like Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and New York so as to enable the user to use compatible phone to get its 700 MHz coverage.

T-Mobile SVP for Northeast Area, Terry Hayes, commented, "Knowing the unique geography of the New England area – it was important that we roll out Extended Range LTE on a massive scale and to include both urban and rural areas. This upgrade allows us to provide significant coverage solutions to our customers regardless of if they are vacationing on The Cape or live in Woostah – they now have an even better network experience."

Apart from delivering the country's fastest nationwide 4G LTE network, the company has unleashed a steady drumbeat of industry-rocking Un-carrier moves. That included abolishing restrictive annual service contracts, data limits, shock overages, the upgrade runaround, high international roaming charges and many more old-guard carrier practices.

On Friday, the stock traded 2.38 percent higher.
