Amazon Launches Amazon Video Direct

revealed an enhancement to its Video offering by launching Amazon Video Direct (AVD). According to the company, it was a new self-service program for creators, as well as, storytellers to make their video content available to its customers. This included tens of millions of Prime members. Amazon said that its Video was the only streaming service provider to offer its customers unlimited access to a number of movies and TV episodes. That included award-winning Amazon Original Series, through Prime Video; monthly subscriptions to SHOWTIME, STARZ, and more. That apart, there were hundreds of thousands of titles that included new-release movies and current TV shows for rent or purchase. The online retailer said that with AVD, starting today, video providers have the flexible self-service options for distributing their content. It included no additional charge to its Prime members and the service was available as an add-on subscription through it streaming partners program. The company was also ready to offer a one-time rental price or purchase and available to its customers of ad-supported. Amazon's VP of Video, Jim Freeman, commented that "It's an amazing time to be a content creator. There are more options for distribution than ever before and with Amazon Video Direct, for the first time, there's a self-service option for video providers to get their content into a premium streaming subscription service. We're excited to make it even easier for content creators to find an audience, and for that audience to find great content." Reacting to the developments, StyleHaul Chief Content Officer, Mia Goldwyn, said, "We are thrilled to bring a selection of our premium original series, including Emmy nominated Vanity, to one of the premiere ad-free subscription services. We believe Amazon Prime members will enjoy the unique female voices featured in our content and be inspired by the fashion and beauty that our brand embodies." Shares of the company traded 2.69% higher.
