CBS Renews Daytime Lineup As Division Continues To Be Network Success

The majority of CBS Corporation CBS's various divisions are leaders in the field, so it should come as no shock to investors that the competitive daytime area is no exception to the rule.

On Wednesday, CBS touted the group's success by renewing its entire daytime lineup for the 2016-2017 season. The schedule, which includes game shows "Let's Make A Deal" and mainstay "The Price Is Right" as well as talk show "The Talk" and soaps "The Bold and The Beautiful" and "The Young and The Restless" is currently posting year-to-year increases.

CBS has been on top of the daytime field for nearly 30 years and enters this weekend's Daytime Emmy Awards with 60 total nominations, more than any other network. Analysts continue to realize the importance of daytime TV regarding commercial purposes, despite the Daytime Emmy Awards failing to draw ratings (and as of late even a network to air the annual event).
